‘Under Inspection’ is an installation, visually inspired by the urban environment of construction, with the intention to persuade the viewer to inspect their surroundings in close contact observation; in relocating where these mass-manufactured features and materials presented exist within a broader context, prior to re-modification.

The use of human intervention expressed to intensify the experience of obscurity towards distorting the traditional appearance of familiar features and material functionally, heightens the physical presence of the work; to re-encapsulate and challenge the visual memory of perception and reality.

The display:

I chose to situate the 'Being Present' installation at the School of Art Birmingham ,within the location SO.1. The reason why I chose this site of display was because of the qualities the site contains. This was in response to the sterile cleanliness and the safety regulation, that must be acknowledged once entering the space.

Therefore, these attributes containing SO.1, emphasise the visual qualities and concept behind the installation; suggested in the safety barrier heightening the audiences virulence in this location, through reflecting  the term of paying more direct attention to our surroundings. Further, explored by the sterile feel the room contains highlighting the out of place outdoor construction items.
