Mia Banks is a multidisciplinary artist with an interest in providing validation to undervalued materials within the everyday. This takes the form of extracting pre-existing textures, replicating them by hand and using mass-manufactured process from familiar sites onto different surfaces.

Through, this method of extraction a form of replication, I aim for the audience to pay more direct attention to their surroundings; to see how everyday undervalued surfaces and materials can be transformed into artwork.
